Is there any reward for good other than Good.

In December 2016, a group of passionate Youth comprising both genders bothered about the decaying state of education in their locality decided to come together and contribute their quota regardless of how miniscule the impact will be. Or so they taught.
Ably marshaled by the seasoned educationist in Mrs Sa'adah Aboubakar, they decided to use an Islamiyyah in Badarawa Kaduna as venue which they had to renovate. The decision to choose Badarawa was to make logistics easier for most of the enrolled students whom were from not so privileged backgrounds.
The volunteers were of varying backgrounds, from Engineers to Architect to Chemist to Accountants, Computer scientist, Anatomist to Geographer, undergraduates and so on.
It was decided to concentrate on basic reading and writing, phonetics and basic science as these are fundamentally the bedrock of basic education.
The volunteers had differing reasons for volunteering, from the bored to to the committed, the extrovert to the introvert and so on. Unbeknownst to most of them, they soon developed strong bonds with the kids, teaching indeed takes an emotional toll, negatively and positively.
Within a short period of time, weakness and strengths of the students were identified, worked upon and a significantly observable improvements were recorded.
Counseling was also given priority in career and ethics seeing they're from 'high risk delinquent environment'. The program lasted for a year and 4 months, it's unfortunate it could not be sustained due to varying but justifiable reasons, a significant number of the volunteers relocated abroad, others got married and others got jobs that required them changing environment.
It is incredible as all the volunteers are doing well in their paths. Engineering consultants, Architectural consultant, a lecturer at the prestigious NDA, a banker, health outreach official, ICT consultant and an Accident Investigator and aviation consultant were all made within that small but blessed circle. Thus impacting their lives and that of the students.
One regret is the fact that the noble cause was not sustained due to varying challenges.
I call upon other young people to replicate such in their own localities as the Quran asks rhetorically;

"Is there any reward for good other than good"
