Opinion on State of insecurity

Nigerian Armed forces are overwhelmed and overstretched. Our Army can't continue doing Police work whilst the police continue to be glorified thugs and water carriers for politicians. Policing is the key to every serious nation's internal security.
Our redemption lies with our police force, and not the Army. The Government should immediately proffer a roadmap to reforming our police force and Intelligence agencies. There lies the solution to our current security quagmire. Herdsmen, Kidnapping, Militancy, Cultism.

Boko Haram and Banditry are a shock therapy for the North & the nation to get their acts together. These pathologies came at a huge cost for the Northern society, however, just as iron has to go through fire to be purified, so did we & by God we're coming out stronger.

The Nigerian Army has evolved into a very competent and effective counterinsurgency force. Arguably one of the best in the world in dealing with insurgency. Despite all the challenges which are numerous, Nigerians must learn to show appreciation and respect to them.

We're coming out stronger because we realised the old order was unsustainable, governance models ineffective thus an acute awareness of our lapses. Our armed forces revamped whilst our policing models will have to be.

Traditional institutions co-opted & neglected grassroots will have to be reinvigorated.
Indeed, tough times create strong men, strong men will create good times..
Their's no scarcity of 'strong men' at this stage of our Sociocultural evolution.
We're at the cusp of a new Nigeria!
